Cornerstone Care and Monongalia General Hospital announce Family Medicine Residency Teaching Health Center Program

Cornerstone Care, Inc. has affiliated with 189-bed Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, to form a federally-designated Teaching Health Center (THC). The THC will serve southwestern Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and north central West Virginia. Our mission is to improve the health of patients in our largely rural communities. The THC will treat rural, high risk populations; encourage patient and community-based input into our operations and management; and will continue making demonstrated progress toward innovative models of patient care delivery, including patient-centered medical homes, use of electronic health records, and use of population-based management and interdisciplinary team-based care.

Many of our services are provided at significantly reduced rates for those who qualify or face economic hardships in affording quality care. In many geographic areas, Cornerstone Care is the only provider who will accept medical assistance coverage.

Cornerstone Care is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).

Because of the continued growing demand for our services, Cornerstone Care needs your help to continue providing care to the community, to expand our facilities and to help those who are in dire need of health care services.
