Healthy options

Our environment plays a large role in how we move and what we eat. Cornerstone Care and our partners want to bring the residents of Greene County, PA more ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Cooking classes
  • Personalized fitness and nutrition plans
  • Monthly nutrition seminars and group counseling

Nutrition

Our physical health relies heavily on the choices we make every day. Food fuels our bodies, but sometimes it is difficult to know what the best choices are. We will share simple guidelines that break up food choices into three categories: “Go” foods, “Slow” foods, and “Woah” foods. We will also be hosting cooking classes that focus on ways to easily and affordably incorporate more “Go” foods than “Woah” foods on your plate.

Exercise

Exercise is another way to keep our physical health strong. HONEY will provide exercise classes to groups specific to interests and help individuals connect with a fitness expert to develop fitness plans.

Youth

All School districts and Head Start classrooms in Greene County will teach the CATCH curriculum. Catch stands for “Coordinated Approach to Child Health.” CATCH schools are committed to helping kids eat more nutritious food and get more physical activity.

And More!

Our environment plays a large role in how we move and what we eat. Cornerstone Care and our partners want to bring the residents of Greene County, PA more ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
